Half acre of natural bogland fed by several springs with a stream running around the side. No use to anyone. We now have a good sized pond with a stream running in and out. The pathway goes all the way round, following the stream to one side over two bridges and small pools.
We have planted 120 8ft trees, both native broadleaf and ornimental flowering trees, 250 shrubs, 5000 bulbs (mixed Daffodils, Bluebells and crocus). There are seats around the garden and lots of old farm equipment. The tearoom terrace over looks the garden with a southerly aspect, good area to sit and watch the butterflies & damsel flies through the summer months. Several of the shrubs like buddleias have been grouped together so you can watch the butterflies feed. Beautiful to watch or paint. |
